Founded in 2011, BUILD, a Royal Enfield partnership, is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to teaching high school students valuable life and interpersonal skills while working on motorcycles under the guidance of volunteer bike-building mentors.

BUILD provides students with opportunities to learn trade skills including design, welding, fabrication, mechanical repair and machining as they relate to the motorcycle industry. In addition to acquiring technical skills, teams also participate in marketing and fundraising efforts promoting the program and host local events showcasing their work, growing their exposure to professional and life skills.

During a BUILD season, from January to June, each participating team is given a motorcycle by BUILD to be worked on, along with mentors, in the team’s designated space with the end goal of racing the bike in one or more American Flat Track motorcycle races. The BUILD program provides the chassis, working motor, and core components of the bike for the team to complete building with a few items of customization including the look and design of the bike.

Through a new multi-year partnership, Royal Enfield will donate 16 Classic 500 motorcycles to the program along with parts, support and technical training mentors. The organization hopes the partnership will allow BUILD to grow the number of high schools in Wisconsin able to participate in the program. Read about our new partnership with Royal Enfield here.
